Everything you'd ask a broker — answered up front.

What does office insurance actually cover?

A modern office insurance policy bundles four core protections: contents and tech assets (laptops, servers, AV kit, furniture and tenant fixtures), public liability for visitors and clients on your premises, employers' liability for staff — a legal requirement in the UK — and business interruption to replace lost income if a fire, flood or break-in forces a temporary closure. Optional add-ons include cyber liability, professional indemnity, hardware breakdown and legal expenses.

How much does office insurance cost in the UK?

Premiums start from around £99/yr for a sole trader with a single desk and minimal contents. A 10-person professional services firm in a private suite typically pays £400–£900/yr depending on contents value, postcode and claims history. Multi-site corporates with high-value tech can expect bespoke pricing from £2,000/yr. The biggest levers are contents valuation, employer headcount and chosen liability limits.

Do I legally need office insurance?

Employers' liability insurance is a statutory requirement in the UK for any business with at least one employee, with minimum cover of £5m (we recommend £10m as standard). The remaining covers — contents, public liability, business interruption — aren't compulsory but are typically required by commercial landlords, investors and enterprise clients before they'll sign a contract.

How fast can I get covered?

Most policies are bound the same working day. Submit your details via the quote builder above, your broker confirms terms within the hour, and once you accept we issue a digital certificate of insurance and schedule immediately. Cover can be backdated to a same-day start where required for landlord or contractual deadlines.
