Say hello to Marc Kirker, Co-Founder, part time comedian, Chilli Champion and Development Director of Spencer Hayes Group, also known as Bob Mortimer!

Marc spends most of his time looking at new quotes for clients and opportunities alongside partners. He mainly works alongside our Marketing Manager, Phoebe and Yorkshire Client Director, Jeff. 

Marc is always up for a challenge, especially for CSR events, whether that’s waxing his chest for Pendleside Hospice or getting involved in the Community Santa Cycle for Positive Action… bearing in mind Marc cant ride a bike. So keep your eyes peeled for what he does next!

Marc believes risk management is extremely important, he heavily focuses on making clients and prospects much more resilient against loss which results in premium savings, it’s a win win! He’s always worked within the insurance sector so that equals to a lot of years experience. 

Currently Marc lives in Burnley with his wife, Kelly, who he married last year and visited Bali for their honeymoon! This was Marc’s favourite holiday as it was so beautiful and the food was that good, most of the time he was either eating or full! The main highlight of his holiday was swimming with Manta Rays and spending time with his wife. They don’t have any pets as Kelly is allergic to animals, which made her leave her vet nursing career and took a new turn to become a holistic therapy practitioner. 

A few fun facts about Marc; he is currently the Clitheroe Food Festival Chilli Eating Champion! (That title is a mouthful itself), he said no skill was required other than extreme stubbornness, as he was competing against 6 Blackburn Rovers fans, therefore failure was not an option for Marc! When he’s not eating chillies, Marc enjoys a chinese as long as there’s no mushrooms, followed by a fake can of beer due to being tea total for medical reasons. 

When Marc isn’t working with clients and prospects, he enjoys art every now and again and has even painted an amazing picture of his crazy beagles he used to have, he also watches crime TV whenever he has the chance!
